Volunteeers are needed for a trail maintenance day on the Sherburne Ski Trail to be held Saturday, September 27, 2014. We'll meet at the AMC's Pinkham Notch visitor center at 9:00 am to review safety procedures and to form teams to tackle brush clearing work on the ski trail. All volunteers should refer to, and sign off on, the Job Hazard Analysis waiver form prior to your arrival.
Volunteers are expected to dress appropriately for potential inclement weather and to prepare their own water and food for the day. If weather conditions are cause for cancellation, we will regroup on Sunday morning at 9:00am in the same location to try again. We need a small army of volunteers with loppers to help catch up on overdue brushing and trimming work on the ski trail. If you enjoy the backcountry skiing and riding experience of the "Sherbie", come on out and help clear some overgrown vegetation that will be denying you turns this winter if left unchecked.
Gloves and eye protection are recommended so bring those too in addition to reading through and paying close attention to everything on the Job Hazard waiver form. If you can't join us for some fun physical labor that weekend, perhaps you will consider a donation to the Trail Fund to help us out financially?
