The inaugural Cross Cat Touring Challenge! What is it? It's a Randonee Race. What is a Randonee Race you ask??
Randonee, also known as Alpine Touring, refers to a type of skiing in which you ascend the mountain using your own power with the aid of special bindings and “skins,” a Velcro like material that sticks to the snow. A Randonee Race involves “skinning” up a set track and then racing down a designated course. So there you go!
Starting from the Jackson Ski Touring Carter Notch parking area competitors will ascend the Wildcat Valley XC Trail up the backside of Wildcat Mountain and then descend the Wildcat Ski Trail. Different lengths and divisions will be offered.
