Doublehead GranJam

Doublehead_trail.jpgFriends it's time to reciprocate! A few short weeks ago the Granite Backcountry Alliance stepped up and helped FOTR with a huge volunteer weekend on the Sherburne and Gulf of Slides ski trails. We made great progress but don't want to stop there...

Next up is GBA's second GRANJAM event that takes place at Doublehead Ski Trail in Jackson, NH on July 29 and 30th! This is an exciting project as crews will be starting from scratch by clearing a new half-mile trail to connect to a new parking lot that will be constructed by the WMNF/USFS in the fall or next spring!

Post trail-work on Saturday there will be another PARTY at Black Mountain!
We'll have BBQ, BEER and a special musical guest -
Junco!

As the new trail adopter for Doublehead, GBA has it's work cut out for them and they need your help! Not only will we be clearing the bottom half-mile, but as anyone who has skied this trail knows, we have water erosion issues to contend with and overreaching sidelines that need to be cut back. We'll tackle those issues to make it more skiable and enjoyable for all!

Where: Jackson, NH (near Black Mtn - we'll carpool to Ski Trail)

When: July 29 and 30th, 2017

What: SKIING IN JULY (sort of, not really, but you know what we mean)

What's Provided: We'll have some food and drink but still bring your own. We'll have tooling and other equipment to facilitate the process but bring your own loppers and saws if you have them.

After-Party. We'll host an after-party at Black Mountain with some fun giveaways! Always a blast to hang out with our GBA comrades!

We'll also potentially have lodging/camping options and may have access to the Doublehead cabin.

We'll have hand tools, some hard hats and coffee! Come ready to have some fun!
